The Ghost vs The Punisher?

In the world of boxing, managers and promoters are a match made only by contracts. And until this contract is signed and the ticket are sold, this will tentatively be seen as a possible "big fight."

Now that it seems certain that Wales' Joe Calzaghe will defend his undisputed light heavyweight crown against its previous owner Roy Jones, Jr., undisputed middleweight champion may have to look down(in weight) for his next challenge.

According to both camps, the fight is one HBO is looking to make but until papers are signed and both fighters are in the ring, no one is saying it's done and fighter's are muted.

With Antonio Margarito battling Miguel Cotto in a few weeeks, Williams against upstart Andre Berto would have been a better fight to prep this fight. And Pavlik could have faced Mikkel Kessler to prove he is more dominant than Calzaghe. This fight would make better sense with both guys having cleaned out their divisions, with Williams already having edged oout Margarito.

Though it's too soon, and Williams has yet to prove himself as a welterweight, the smart bet is to pick Pavlik, the "naturally" bigger man to win an easy decision, maybe even late round stoppage. But Williams just might be one of those fearless fighters who cherishes a huge challenge.

This one goes in the wait and see category.
